Ageless in America offers an array of learning experiences - live, virtual and written - in keeping with our stated purpose to assist organizations and individuals in optimizing their roles in the changing workplace and workforce.

Who should you call upon and in what situation?  Carleen and Brad’s knowledge and experience in the Workplace/Workforce space are virtually transposable. Their national reach, experience with handling the group dynamics of very large or small, hands-on audiences are usually interchangeable. Does style drive your selection of a speaker when all else is even?  We each asked one client to express their sense of our presentation style in the form of a very brief endorsement. This is what they said:

They typically run one hour but can be expanded and are suitable in keynote or breakout venues.  As with all our presentations, each is customized to meet your needs.

The Business Case for Hiring and Engaging the Mature Workforce.  Asks and answers the tough questions about the ability of America to compete without hiring or engaging the Boomers and highly specialized Traditionalists.  Offers critical strategies for where, when and how to most effectively engage the oldest generations in America’s workforce.

The HR Hero’s Journey. The Case for Human Resources in a New Economy.  Asks and answers the questions about HR’s emerging role in an economy and society that demands much more from HR than at any time in the past.  Offers ideas for balanced, flexible workforce planning, new sources of recruiting, new focuses on development and the role of the mature workforce in achieving better return on investment in people while maintaining profitable cost structures.

The Emerging Case for Aligning Public, Private and Educational Sector Leaders in Meeting the Challenges of an Aging Workforce.  Asks and answers the questions about overcoming silo mentalities and the importance of working together to prepare the maturing workforce to help build a bridge to a competitive future without “breaking the bank” of a consumer-driven economy.  Makes the case that the shift in how organizations are run and the new demands for lifelong learning will take its toll on mature workers unless they are fully prepared through our collaborative efforts.  Offers the opportunity to leaders from all sectors to begin a process of leveraging ideas and talent across the American workplace.

Cohorts in Time – Four Generations in the Workplace. This learning event suggests the advantages and critical benefits each generation offers organizations including distinct competitive opportunities. It uncovers generational employee values and expectations and provides insight into attracting, motivating, developing and retaining talent from all generations. It stresses the need for all employees to communicate effectively with each other and to understand the importance of teaming together to achieve the organization’s objectives. Interactive exercises include a discussion of generational myths and the facts that dispute them.

2010 Presentations – Individuals

These updated presentations typically run one hour but can be expanded and are suitable for groups of individuals in all sectors of the economy who are concerned about continuing to achieve success in their careers.  The target audiences include employees of progressive companies concerned for their career development; clients of Career Management firms, One-Stop Centers and Employment Development Departments; undergraduates approaching the workplace for the first time, and experienced workers baffled by the uncertainties of the economy.

Why New Strategies, not Old Tactics, are the Keys to Working in a New Economy. Answers the question as to why “flooding the market” with resumes is NOT the approach to effective career/job management. An eight-step strategic plan offers audiences of all ages and all backgrounds a sustainable method for approaching a future in an ambivalent job market that will change dramatically, for better and for worse, over the next several years.

Why Can’t We Just Get Along? – Coexisting & Thriving with Other Generations in the Workplace. This presentation uncovers generational employee values and expectations and stresses the need for all employees to understand the misconceptions that abound about the generations, to communicate effectively with each other and to understand the importance of teaming together to achieve the organization’s objectives. Interactive exercises include a discussion of generational myths and the facts that dispute them.

Why “Readiness” is the Answer to Leveraging Experience and Knowledge.  Do you know how to debunk myths about older workers, including some myths we ourselves set in stone a few short years ago?  You know…myths such as “never trust anyone over 30” and “you can’t teach old dogs new tricks”?   Are you able to convey maturity’s advantages without being argumentative or, excuse the expression, weak kneed?  Are you “market ready” with the updated skills you need in order to compete against dozens of candidates?  The most important question in terms of your future career is: "Are you ready?"  Or, as we often say… when you combine experience and knowledge with readiness, expect success.
