Services for Organizations

Presentations

Presentations in the form of keynote speeches and workshops along with webcasts and teleseminars are available to provide information on a variety of relevant topics relating to the changing workforce and workplace. Click here for examples of current offerings.

Consulting Services

Consulting services are available to assist organizations in planning, developing and implementing a variety of workplace and workforce management initiatives. Practice areas include:

Recruiting the Mature Workforce

Analysis of current recruitment policies, procedures and systems is followed by recommendations for implementing effective processes to identify, evaluate and hire mature workers that can contribute to the success of the organization. The development of a brand as an "Employer of Choice" is emphasized.

Re-developing the Mature Workforce

Assessing current training and development programs and recommending new initiatives to effectively re-train and revitalize an experienced workforce to meet the changing skills and knowledge needs of the organization.

Retaining the Mature Workforce

Strategies to create a flexible workplace that encourages mature workers to continue to contribute to the organization are developed. Initiatives including flexible scheduling, job sharing and phased retirement are customized to meet the productivity needs of the organization and the needs of not only mature workers but all generations represented in the workplace.

Workforce Planning

Organizations experiencing changing workforce needs, from downsizing to rapid growth, will receive assistance in developing strategies to ensure that the talents of the workforce match the evolving needs of the workplace. The delivery of early retirement and phased retirement programs are two examples of the opportunity for companies to align their needs with the needs of the mature workforce. Innovative programs to attract, develop and retain the talent necessary to remain competitive will be emphasized.

Workforce Demographic Studies

Understanding changing demographics is the baseline for establishing workforce strategies for U.S. businesses that face the shortage of millions of workers due to the maturing of the baby boomer generation. Analysis of demographics in target communities will take place followed by recommended actions for employers to take in order to offset the increased costs of turnover and of recruiting a younger workforce that is not sizable enough to meet future workforce needs.

Based in part on studies such as the Boston College Center on Aging and Work’s recent survey of 578 organizations in various industries in the U.S., in which it was found that only 33% of employers had analyzed workplace demographics on their own, demographic analysis is the bridge that spans the chasm between awareness and effective action.
